March 14 Sunny and 51 degrees - a bit breezy

Fred took Friday off from work to get some work done on the house since we had some nice weather.  He finished the siding and trimming the back door.  We just need to paint and put up the exterior lighting.
He almost finished putting up the siding on the back of the garage.  Just needs to put up the brackets, paint, cut out the window and door upstairs and put them in.  Eventually we will have a little sitting porch up there.
Today was a beautiful day and Fred and I put in the window upstairs and Fred put in the vent and put up some siding.
Now time for play.
We went on a little hike and this picture is from our front pasture.

More electronics

I've been working more on the timelapse camera controller. Last week, I added a screen and some buttons so that the times could be programmed. Once that was working, I drew the circuit using some free printed circuit board software from a company called Express PCB. They also make the circuit boards. I bought two boards from them that were built from the drawing.

Most of Saturday was spent putting parts on one of the boards and working out all of the bugs. Then I mounted it all in a case that I had made before. Turned out pretty good and looks like everything works. The messy looking circuit on the upper right is the first prototype. The light green board is one of the manufactured ones:

I should be able to make the next version a little smaller. Now it is time to do some testing.

Gable

A little bit closer to the finish line.

Today, the weather was really nice so I worked on this gable. Putting up wood shingles takes at least 10 times as long as the plywood siding but it looks better.
