December 25th Merry Christmas!!

On the 17th, I turned 40!. I know it is hard to believe. Here are some of the nice gifts that I received.

We all received a lot of great gifts today. One of Brandon's gifts was an air shotgun so we had to go out and let him shoot some. Later in the day Brandon made a snow fort and I made a snow angel.

Christmas Morning +21 degrees

Last night we went to Christmas Eve service in York. The pastor had a very good message and there was lots of good music and Christmas carols.

Santa must have stopped by later in the night. We all got lots of gifts!

The chef made Santa some cookies. He must have liked them because they were gone this morning.

Cold Snap!

Got back from our trip to Alabama on Monday. Stopped by the old house. Looks like it's been there 150 years.

It was sure nice to see everyone. Next time we will have to head up to South Carolina to see Terry's family.

Cold this weekend. 14 below tonight and supposed to be 20 below tomorrow!

I guess the garage will have to wait a week or so for warmer weather. Curtis has the walls up and wrapped. Next, the roof trusses will go up. I don't really like to hire out carpentry work but it will speed up things a lot.

The garage is 30 x 28 and will have a 16 x 28 room upstairs. We will be tearing down the old shed this spring.

10 point White Tail Buck

Fred left early Friday morning to go down to the West Yellowstone area to hunt elk. He came home this afternoon and after about 20 minutes hunting in the back field he shot this buck.

November 17th

Fred was one of 160 recipients of the The Governor's Award for Excellence in Performance.  He received this for his work on the Bailey Bridge in Livingston, MT.

Our back porch.  This will eventually be screened in so we can sit out and enjoy the sound of the creek. It will also be painted to match the house.
Fred went hunting near West Yellowstone over the weekend and took this picture of Tony.

Trick or Treater! - Rainy and 55

We had a trick or treater last Thursday night. We used to keep garbage in this shed until a bear got in a few weeks ago. Now, there is just some paper/cardboard but the bear must have decided to check it out again as he was passing through. Should be hibernating soon but the warm weather is keeping them out late while there isn't much food around for them. He was easily scared away. (This shed will be torn down once the garage is done).

The house is still coming along. Got all of the chinking done on the logs. Still have to put some trim around the windows, roofing on the porch, siding on the addition, gutters, plus a few small things and the garage. We may have someone else frame the garage.

Nice crisp fall day

This was taken Sunday evening. We were headed out to look for some BIG BUCKS.
Fred started on the porch that will come into the kitchen from the garage.

SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!

This is what we woke up to this morning and it is still coming down.
Fred and I went hunting up on the mountain a couple of weeks ago.
One picture to prove that Fred doesn't do ALL the work on the house.
A little time for play is needed.
On Sunday, we decided to burn the big rubbish pile behind the house.
We all went hunting Wednesday night.  We saw 2 bucks but not worth going after.  We will wait until the monster bucks show up in the back yard.
Shadow and Smokey enjoying some time together.
