28th- sunny and 40

This weekend , Terry and I visited some friends who live near Bozeman, about an hour and a half from here.
Dave is the ranch manager for two ranches. On Saturday he showed us around one of them. The owner is having his own new house built, as well as another for Dave and Tina.
This is some of the log framing on the owner's place.

We took a short drive up the mountain and photographed some Bighorn sheep.

Here is Terry on the new bridge at the ranch.

Today Pepper had surgery to remove a benign tumor from her eyelid, had her teeth cleaned, and ears flushed out.

She has to wear the collar for 10 days.

20th- High about 40

Worked on the guitar again today. Getting close to being done finally. I thought I should show a few more pictures of the construction process.

Here is the full scale plan drawing and a template.

The sound board after routing out a channel for the soundhole rosette. I didn't realize at the time that classical guitars have a smaller soundholes than steel string guitars.

I am building a steel string but it has the classical rosette and soundhole. I hope it doesn't reduce the volume too much.

Hard to tell with all the clamps but this is the neck/headstock.

Starting to look like something here.

18th- Warmer this week

This cabin is one of the original Beaver Creek homesteads. They had a nice view!

Here's one of our "pet" Mountain Goats.

Some of you might remember the big "hole" in the wall. It was a good day when I was finally able to install the window.

15th- MLK Holiday

Cold out so I worked on the house plan. This is probably pretty close to the final plan. I have been using some cheap software I got from Wal Mart but it works pretty well. In the picture the addition is the "wing" on the left and the connector.

Here is the plan for the addition.

Nice day today. Went for a 3 mile walk.

13th- Sunny and cold, down to -8 last night

Worked on the guitar project today. Gluing the binding on. Binding is the light wooden strip around the edge.

Pepper checking out the ice in the creek.
Notice the old bridge was made from a rail car. Going to replace it this year with an arched stone (faced) bridge.

Here is the most recent house project. A new closet.
Here is the rough draft of the house plan. The big part on the left is the existing main part of the house. We plan to add on the middle and right sections, starting in about a month.
Brandon's room will be the one on the lower right.
Click on it for a larger view.
