Colder / Garage / Beaver dam

Cold today. The temps ranged from about 2 for a low and 10 for a high. I walked over to the swamp and was able to walk out on the ice of this beaver pond.

Over by the house, the stream has some ice but is still open. Not much snow left but there are some icy places in the yard. (Terry can tell you about that!)

Here is a picture of Curtis up on the roof of the garage. He is almost done with his part. Like I said before, I hate to hire out carpentry work but it really speeds up construction.
Today, I added this little roof over the garage doors:

The plan is to use cedar shingles above it.

Nice weather 43 degrees and sunny

We had some nice weather today.  Fred got out and worked some on the garage.
He built stairs to the upstairs room of the garage.
I helped nail up the siding.
Last weekend, Fred put in the final new window in the house.  He also put trim around the door and some of the windows.

Garage Framing

Well, the weather finally improved enough for the crane to come in. Curtis was able to get the trusses set yesterday. Hopefully, he will be done with the framing this week. The garage will be 30' wide x 28' deep with a 16'x28' upstairs room. The stairs will be inside.

Warmer Finally! / Web Camera

Here is Brandon with Shadow on the 26th. It's been warm lately and most of the snow is gone now.

We have a web camera set up now (see the link on the left). I'm still experimenting with it so expect it to be down from time to time. It should take a picture every 10 minutes during the day and post it. Right now it is set up in the house, pointed out a window but eventually will be moved to a better spot.
