Bobcat

We found a deer carcass up in the field yesterday and saw there was a bobcat feeding on it. He ran off when we hiked up there but we put up a trail camera over it and got some nice pictures of him.

Here is a small picture frame Terry and I worked on together.
Below is a ram I downloaded from the net and carved...

The ram took about 1.5 hours for the machine to carve. It is about 16" across.

I painted it gray, sanded it and then put on polyurethane.

This next one is really neat.

Brief history lesson:
The Aztec sun calendar is a circular stone with pictures representing how the Aztecs measured days, months, and cosmic cycles. The Sun Stone or Calendar Stone contained the pictographs for their days, months and suns. The original stone is 12 feet in diameter and weighs about 24 metric tons. It took 52 years to complete, from 1427-1479. Originally the Calendar Stone was placed atop the main temple in Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec empire. Today, Mexico City's cathedral stands on the site. The Aztec calendar faced south in a vertical position and was painted a vibrant red, blue, yellow and white. The stone was buried by the Spaniards when they conquered Tenochtitlan. The stone was lost for over 250 years until December of 1790 when it was found by accident during repair work on the cathedral. Today it is located in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.

Over 3 hours to carve! This is actually the third one I have done as I have experimented with different depths and bits. A V bit was used for the entire carving.

After carving, I sprayed with black spraypaint. After it dried, I sanded it and then put on polyurethane.

After church today I did some more CNC machining.

Here is a 3D drawing of some hold downs that I will use to clamp work pieces down on the table.

Terry drew them up - her first CAD drawing...

Cutting out the holdowns:

Here is a Clemson sign I drew up and cut out:
